We are a Physiotherapy led Sports Performance Facility. We use an integrated Physiotherapy and Strength and Conditioning model to rehabilitate our athletes and non-athletes alike. We use the best in evidence-based medicine and science to provide world class services to our clients.

Helen McElroy (PhD)

Helen is our Clinical Lead Physiotherapist, she established the practice in 2012. Helen obtained a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy (Ulster University), then went on to complete an MSc in Sports Physio (UCD) and a PhD focusing on hip and groin pain in athletes. Helen has worked across multiple sports at club, county, regional and national level. She sits on the UK Physios in Sport Committee as the Northern Ireland representative leading education across the profession. Helen is a Physiotherapy Panel Member of Sport Ireland Institute and is a guest lecturer in the Physiotherapy and Sports Medicine Masters programmes at Ulster University. She leads our Hip and ACL programmes.

Colm

Colm MacRory

Colm is one of our Senior Physiotherapists. He obtained a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy and a MSc in Sport & Exercise Medicine (Ulster University). Colm is a EXOS accredited Performance Specialist and has several years experience in NHS & private practice across both Ireland & Australia giving him a broad range of experience. He has worked with several sporting teams at club & county level and is currently working his way through UK physios in sport accreditation pathway.

Orlagh Kearns

Orlagh is one of our Senior Physiotherapists. She obtained a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy  and a MSc in Sport & Exercise Medicine (Ulster University). Orlagh has since become a EXOS accredited Sports Performance Specialist and continues to further her knowledge in strength and conditioning and sports performance. She has worked across multiple sports at elite and recreational levels with Athletics in both sprinting and endurance events, Gaelic football and Hurling at club and county level and has developed a very keen interest in lower limb rehabilitation with a particular interest in tendons both acute and chronic.

Orlagh Casey

Orlagh is a Registered Physiotherapist. She has obtained a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy (Ulster University). Orlagh currently works in fracture clinic with the trauma and orthopaedic team in the NHS and has worked in a variety of rotations such as respiratory, stroke and MSK outpatients. Orlagh has experience working with multiple team sports such as Gaelic, hurling and soccer ranging from club level to senior county level. Orlagh has a keen interest in sport rehabilitation with the incorporation of strength and conditioning and pilates. She continues to play Gaelic football and participate in horse riding.

Leigha

Leigha McDermott

Leigha is a Registered Physiotherapist. She obtained a BSc (Hons) in Athletic and Rehabilitation Therapy in 2017 and a Masters Degree in Physiotherapy in 2019. She is currently a Physiotherapist in the HSE and has experience working with many field sports including GAA, (Fermanagh Minors and underage, Currin, Clones and Killeevan Mens and ladies teams) soccer and interned with the Northwestern University Chicago Sports Medicine Team. Leigha has a huge interest in strength and conditioning and is currently working her way through the EXOS Performance Specialist course. In her spare time, Leigha continues to play GAA with her local club.

Anne-Marie Mulholland

Anne-Marie is a HCPC Registered Dietitian and SENR Sport Nutritionist (BSc/MSc). Anne-Marie currently works as a Performance Nutritionist at the IRFU and with Derry Senior Footballers, helping players support their health and performance needs through optimising their dietary intake. Anne-Marie has a range of experience working in team sports including GAA and Rugby Union 15’s and 7’s. Previous clubs Anne-Marie has worked for include Sale Sharks, Ulster Rugby, Down GAA and the RFU.

Samuel Hicks

Samuel is our Clinic Practice Manger. He has obtained a BSc (Hons) in Sports and Exercise Science (Ulster University). He is responsible for the day to day running of the clinic. Samuel is also a qualified Personal Trainer and has worked within the Health & Fitness industry for over five years. He has a huge interest in strength and conditioning and  is currently undertaking an EXOS accredited Performance Specialist course.
